I offer astrological counseling for psycho-spiritual exploration, understanding, and transformation. Astrology utilized in this way can be a missing key for deep inner work and can shed light on the path towards greater harmony with the natural rhythms and cycles of one’s life journey. My approach to astrology is to share the potentials and opportunities I see while exploring how the symbols and archetypes are manifesting uniquely for each individual. Astrology is a wonderful tool for self-knowledge and a help in times of challenge or transition. It can facilitate tremendous insight and peace, as well as provide timelines for certain archetypal or energetic influences reflected in our lives and inner states of being. July 4-13 Venus connects with all the outer planets
From 7/4 to 7/13 Venus connects with all the outer planets one after the other - bringing intense focus to relationships and one’s sense of self-worth. Venus will reactivate the Grand Cross - tension, polarization of opposing feelings, and the need for change/transformation that we felt through June - but Venus also makes harmonious aspects supporting spiritual vision, connection, and buoyancy. With the polarization of opposing feelings, values, desires, and urges, etc. (symbolized by the 2 oppositions that form the cross), the challenge is to integrate opposite positions, either within yourself or within a relationship, rather than to suppress or deny one side of a polarity. The squares involved are difficult and demand that you mobilize in order to turn a corner, but once turned you realize you have advanced through and past an internal obstacle.

7/4 to 7/28 Venus will be in Cancer (♀→ ♋), bringing her warmth and affection inwards - to dwell within her shell - in the home, family, and the deep organic process of growing and healing.
Early on 7/1/2011 there is a New Moon Solar Eclipse. Eclipses “clip” something out. This can be something we have been holding on to, which needs to be released, or something we are glad to see go. Either way, and though this can be difficult to appreciate at the time, the change matures us and advances our soul growth.
The eclipse is at 10º Cancer ♋. The Sabian Symbol for this eclipse is: “A large and beautiful diamond, in the hand of the lapidary, is now to be cut to its full perfection.” Curiously, this symbol echoes the eclipse theme of something of oneself being cut (or clipped, e-clip-sed), so that the facets of self reflect the inner divine light more perfectly. Some of you have asked me about the Grand Cross. This New Moon eclipse does activate the intense energy formation going on with the outer planets (It will mark the 4th point of the cross squaring Saturn and Uranus and opposing Pluto). We have already been feeling the Grand Cross in the last 2 weeks as the Sun and Mercury have also activated it - this can mean tension, opposition, challenge, stress, etc. as we turn some difficult corners (but rewarding corners which advance us upon our way), and work to find balance within ourselves and our relationships... Saturn, ruler of tradition and structure is in opposition to Uranus, ruler of freedom and sudden dismantling of all that is familiar and comfortable. Both Saturn and Uranus are squared by Pluto, who is taking us down into the underworld, either willingly or by force, for for the purpose of becoming conscious in an area in which we are unconscious, for deep transformation, death and rebirth. This is happening on the personal and collective level...

Jun 27-28: Powerful forces within and without are exerting pressure. Pluto challenges us to the core to surrender that which on the spiritual level is no longer serving us. It can feel like a death. But rebirth into a more self-empowered place must follow (Sun opposite Pluto ☉☍♇).
A comment from an astrology friend about this aspect: “Living with and grappling with one’s demons in that underworld subconscious zone below the rational...” In this painting the mythological god, Pluto/Hades, is holding a key. Another comment from the same wise friend in regard to this aspect and the symbolism of the painting: “Facing and dealing with the ‘hot’ radioactive content at the core of the psyche and transforming it is the key. Otherwise it destroys you.”
Sudden insights, unexpected changes, or surprises may be part of this day as the urge for freedom and the spiritual demand for transcendental breakthroughs challenge the status quo (Sun square Uranus ☉❐ ♅).

Envision solutions and outcomes that are best for you and the higher good. Tomorrow The Moon will enter Aries ♈, a perfect time to initiate action inspired by today’s receptivity and dynamic stillness.
Also today, the Sun☉trined Neptune ♆ (10:08aEDT), amplifying the dreamlike quality and spiritual essence of the day. At the same time Mars ♂ squared Neptune ♆ (2:46aEDT), obscuring our motivations and assertions, emphasizing again the wisdom in waiting until tomorrow to take important actions, if possible. There is a potential for lack of clarity - what’s “real” or “true” may be colored by subjectivity, yet the voice of intuition may also be strong today. How to sort through it all? I’m not sure, but I can guess it’s not via the ego’s route...
Today the Sun enters Cancer ♋ and we enter the Summer, the time of fruition. Cancer is ruled by the softly lustrous and soulful Moon. The sign of the Crab, known to be nurturing, protective, and sensitive can also be silly and loony (from lunar). Here’s a classic for all you Moon children!
The Moon has been in Aquarius ♒ all weekend continuing through the afternoon today. The spirit of Moon in Aquarius is about being true to yourself and accepting who you are, without trying to fit into other people’s concepts of what you should be, and more importantly without trying to fit into your own concepts of what you should be. Rather it is about allowing yourself the freedom to be your unique being, as you are.
