6/17-6/19: Our minds and mouths could be ultra active as Mercury ☿, ruler of thoughts and words, makes multiple connections (above and so below): trines Neptune ♆ - we open to the voice of intuition and inspiration; sextiles Jupiter - our perspectives broaden; squares Uranus - sudden news or surprises; trines Chiron - potential for healing conversations; and opposes Pluto - deep transformative truths revealed...
How I love Jane Eyre. The recent film is the best screen version ever! Ive been imagining Janes chart. Clearly a prominent Saturn ♄: hard work, struggle, but also great inner strength and incredible integrity. And Pluto ♇: death and the underworld - as a child she lost her parents, uncle, good friend, and suffered other peoples shadow projections and abuse; yet she possesses power, intensity, and depth.
There are many possibilities for her chart, but heres a good guess: Aries ♈ Sun - at her core Jane is independent, impulsive, passionate, courageous, and has a compelling need for freedom. Scorpio ♏ Moon - she is strong-willed, has a private nature, penetrating glance, and intense emotions smoldering beneath the surface. Virgo ♍ rising - Jane developed her persona to be of service and is abundantly clever, diligent, and skillful. An emphasized 12th house - she is described as ‘obscure and ‘otherworldly. She experiences tremendous denial in the outward world; yet she is also talented with inspired artistic ability. These are a few of the archetypes that Jane Eyre seems to strongly embody. Thoughts?
*By the way, this activity of analyzing literature is very in line with the current transit of Mercury ☿ (analysis) conjunct ☌ Venus ♀ (art)
There is a confrontation between Mars, feisty god of war, and Pluto, lord of the underworld. Unconscious factors may be fueling strong emotions and creating tension. Can we face our demons, let go of the compelling drive to control, & express our truths with self-awareness? Action may feel urgent as the process of transformation is sparked, yet with Mercury retrograde, we are still in a period of inward reflection.
Also, tonight Mercury (retrograde) conjoins Jupiter, stimulating a review of internal connections or outer reconnections, and inspiring copious communication. Through it there is an opportunity for optimism and faith - that any friction, which may feel counter to our well-being, is actually serving to expand and lift consciousness.
Uranus & Pluto are almost square (a stressful aspect, requiring action, resulting in overcoming challenge) and will be exact 7 times in the next 6 years. Low side: Uranus rules hurricanes, explosions, catastrophes - sudden, expected ones. Pluto rules raw power, all forms including nuclear. High side: Uranus = freedom and liberation. Pluto = deep transformation for the purpose of personal and collective empowerment.
“In the past few weeks, during the gateway to this period [the Uranus Pluto square], we have seen the following events occur: civil war in Libya; the end of Mubaraks thirty year rule in Egypt; unrest in several other Arab countries; the Dalai Lama resigning from political life; a major quake in New Zealand and a 8.9 earthquake in Japan creating tsunamis in the Pacific and a potential nuclear reactor crisis...” “...Its quite reasonable to think that our inner lives affect the outer world, as well as vice versa. So we can pray, we can meditate, we can develop in mindfulness. We can heal our own wounds, be a kind witness to ourselves...We can hold clear intention. We can be mindful and wise in our actions and our speech...We can honor the mystical and the numinous, while keeping our feet on the ground. Stay centered. Keep a wide view. Allow wholeness.” -Lara Owen
Jupiter square Pluto, one of the most significant transits of the year, felt strongly Feb thru Mar. Pluto is about death and rebirth. Pluto demands transformation in the most profound way. Jupiter optimistically seeks growth & freedom. The square between the two creates friction. It is a turning point; perhaps decisive action must be initiated. We see this in the collective, but it applies personally as well.
Mercury Retrograde and Mars join Pluto in 5º Capricorn ♑. The Sabian for 5º Capricorn: “An American Indian encampment rests by the side of a canoe-filled stream and on shore the war dance commences.” A war dance is like a psychodrama. It gives expression to conflicting or aggressive impulses, without actually causing any harm. This Sabian provides a clue about how to channel the current potentially volatile energies productively.
Interestingly, this Sabian also perfectly reflects the conjunction of the 3 mentioned planets and the sign in which they are meeting. Shadow material that is ready to be transformed could surface (Pluto) and be expressed (Mercury) finally (retrograde), and possibly in an aggressive way (Mars). Honor the prevailing Capricorn sky by being as practical and efficient in your process, as possible (i.e. do a psychodrama as opposed to a real fight, which transmutes the energy without creating a mess).
