“My evenings are taken up very largely with astrology. I make horoscopic calculations in order to find a clue to the core of psychological truth. Some remarkable things have turned up which will certainly appear incredible to you.”
~Carl Jung in a letter to Sigmund Freud (June 12, 1911)
Astrological Counseling
I offer astrological counseling for psycho-spiritual exploration, understanding, and transformation. Astrology utilized in this way can be a missing key for deep inner work and can shed light on the path towards greater harmony with the natural rhythms and cycles of one’s life journey. My approach to astrology is to share the potentials and opportunities I see while exploring how the symbols and archetypes are manifesting uniquely for each individual. Astrology is a wonderful tool for self-knowledge and a help in times of challenge or transition. It can facilitate tremendous insight and peace, as well as provide timelines for certain archetypal or energetic influences reflected in our lives and inner states of being. Consultations available for birth chart exploration, current influences, relationship dynamics, and timing for important events.
Mercurys 3 week vacation comes to an end today at 6:03p EDT. Time to get back to business as usual, Mercury! No more looking back, uncovering problems for us to fix, and resolving the past. Time to look ahead and move forward! However, it can take a few days for the transition to smooth out, and it may not feel like a new beginning until the New Moon on Sunday night.
Aug 13: There is a Full Moon at 21º Aquarius at 2:57pm EDT... The Moon presides over emotions. Though emotions tend to be at their peak of intensity during the Full Moon period, it is also a time to observe with objectivity what is coming into focus in order to gain clarity and awareness... The Full Moon may be a time of fulfillment of something initiated in the past. Or it may be a time of realizing what needs to be adjusted.
One may ask: What is now flowering from the seed that was planted at the time of the New Moon in the same sign 6 months ago? (Kelly Lee Phipps). The New Moon in Aquarius was on Feb 7. Certain things you were beginning at that time - and it is often more of an internal process - are now coming to fruition... in the area of the chart where you have Aquarius ♒.
Also, the Full Moon in Aquarius sheds light on the needs and feelings of our communities and humanity at large. The archetype of Aquarius asks us to remember our connectedness and unity with all beings, and to seek that which serves the higher good of all.
The Moon is Void-of-Course all day, Mercury is opposite Neptune (☿☍♆), and its the last day of the Waning Crescent (Balsamic) Moon before the New Moon on 7/30. What does all this mean? Chill time, rest, introspection, patience and faith... Diving within, accessing the higher octaves of love, imagining the new beginning, allowing the past to dissolve away, listening for the voice of inspiration, letting things be...
In addition, the Moon is in Cancer ♋ today, which further encourages enjoying the inner realms to find/create nurturing, comfort, and healing.
The Moon is in the Gibbous phase, waxing towards full light on 7/15
The Moon is in the Gibbous phase, waxing towards full light on 7/15. Patience and trust may be required as we wait to see what will be revealed at the Full Moon. When the Moon is full, its light corresponds with objectivity, clarity, and awareness. Something often comes to light or fruition at the Full Moon, but for now we continue our work and allow the process to unfold.
We are in the Dark Moon phase (Balsamic/Waning Crescent) at the end of the lunar cycle. You may feel more quiet or low energy than usual. It is a natural time to go inward into the depths for reflection and stillness... However, with the Sun in Gemini ♊, there will likely still be plenty of talking, listening, reading, and typing.
Square to Neptune — overactive imagination or creative mystical imagination?
This Full Moon on 5/17 was square to Neptune ♆, so although something comes to light once the Moon reaches fullness (lighting up the night - lighting up that which was previously dark), the square to Neptune may have added confusion or an overactive imagination (or creative mystical imagination, on the higher side) into the mix, only to be seen more clearly now, a day or two after the Full Moon.
Full Moon in Scorpio ♏ (today, 5/17/2011 at 7:09am EDT at 26 ♏13). The Full Moon is the crescendo of the lunar cycle and represents things coming to fruition. The waxing Moon (from new to full) is the ideal time to initiate beginnings. It has been known since ancient times to be the best time to plant above ground crops, as the energy is building and supportive of growth. The waning moon (from full to new) is the best time to make adjustments and release.
To inquire deeper into what this Full Moon in Scorpio means for you, look to see where you have Scorpio ♏ in your chart and think back to the beginning of November 2010, when we had the New Moon in Scorpio. Perhaps there was a new beginning of some sort in the area of life represented in your chart where you have Scorpio, and now you can see clearly what has come to light and grown forth in that same area.Read more...
Wonderfully written excerpt by Gary P. Caton and Eric Francis about this Full Moon: “By definition, the Sun and Moon are in opposition at Full Moon, with the Earth between. This is what allows the lunar surface to be fully illumined. Psychologically, its something like staring into a celestial mirror, whereby big chunks of our psyche can also be lit up. This provides opportunities for moments of clarity and holistic self-understanding to those who are aware that life is really just a waking dream, and we are constantly gazing into ourselves, even as our eyes are open... The Moon is in Scorpio, a sign where shes not always so comfortable; the Scorpio Moon can be a bit tense in her skin, and requires special care... The best way to engage with this Full Moon energy is a kind of slow burn, which allows energy to be released but doesnt invite or go looking for conflict. Due to the Moons placement in Scorpio, your intuition may be off; make sure you back it up with facts. Due to Mars presence in Taurus, you may be exaggerating the degree of external conflict, because you feel something burning inside.”
A New Moon - joining the Sun, Mercury, Mars, Uranus, & Chiron (thats 6 celestial bodies!) in Pisces - sign of oceanic merging and morphing, creative imagination, and divine union. Though it is the beginning of a monthly lunar cycle, we are still completing something of the past, as Pisces rules endings. Next month several planets will all be in Aries, marking a monumental leap forward into new beginnings!
Full Moon in Leo ♌. At the New Moon (last New Moon was on 2/2) there is no light in the night sky - likewise we may be in the dark in some area, yet we have inspiration to plant a seed, imagine possibilities, and embark on a new cycle of growth. At the Full Moon, there is a full body of light in the night sky - light is shed revealing what has unfolded and allowing sight of the new reality that has grown forth.
A New Moon at 9:31pm. The dark sky at this phase of the lunar cycle is like a blank canvas providing an opportunity to start over and create something new... It is in Aquarius, the archetype of CHANGE - wanted or not, and possibly shocking. It is needed. The task in Aquarius is to discover ones current inner truth, even if it is radical, and be stubbornly dedicated to it.
With the Sun, Mars, Neptune, and Chiron all also in Aquarius, and Mercury entering Aquarius tomorrow (Feb 3), the Aquarius archetype is unfathomably intense right now.
