“My evenings are taken up very largely with astrology. I make horoscopic calculations in order to find a clue to the core of psychological truth. Some remarkable things have turned up which will certainly appear incredible to you.”
~Carl Jung in a letter to Sigmund Freud (June 12, 1911)
I offer astrological counseling for psycho-spiritual exploration, understanding, and transformation. Astrology utilized in this way can be a missing key for deep inner work and can shed light on the path towards greater harmony with the natural rhythms and cycles of one’s life journey. My approach to astrology is to share the potentials and opportunities I see while exploring how the symbols and archetypes are manifesting uniquely for each individual. Astrology is a wonderful tool for self-knowledge and a help in times of challenge or transition. It can facilitate tremendous insight and peace, as well as provide timelines for certain archetypal or energetic influences reflected in our lives and inner states of being. Consultations available for birth chart exploration, current influences, relationship dynamics, and timing for important events.
Interpreting astrological symbolism cannot predict character per se. It only suggests influences with many possible manifestations. Each placement and aspect in a birth chart can be read on the high side and the low side. It is my practice to always focus on the inherent higher potentials, but occasionally I am reminded to stay alert to the more negative possibilities.
That goes for interpreting current planetary transits (influences) happening for an individual as well. There are often both high and low manifestations at the same time, which sometimes may only be fully understood after the transit has passed.
Many ask how astrology works. Here is the best explanation I know of: “True without error, certain and most true: that which is above is as that which is below, and that which is below is as that which is above, for performing the miracles of the One Thing; and as all things were from One, by the mediation of One, so all things arose from this One Thing...”
There are many constellations not used in astrology. “Ophiuchus was one of the 48 constellations listed by Ptolemy, and it remains one of the 88 modern constellations” (wikipedia). The 12 archetypes used in Western & Vedic astrology are comprehensive and have worked for millennia. Though it is worth contemplating why Ophiuchus has surfaced now in the collective consciousness.
One of the gifts astrology offers is to help one “become what one is” (Dane Rudhyar). Rather than trying to fit into a concept of what one thinks one should be or to pursue a path set by others, astrology helps one to discover oneself for who one is, accept oneself, and grow into ones full and unique potential.
“According to Christian tradition it was a star that had guided the three Wise Men (who in the original Greek are called astrologers) to Bethlehem... The consensus of opinion among modern astrologers is that the ‘star of Bethlehem was in fact a conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Pisces... an exceptional phenomenon that the Wise Men would have considered a major omen”~Larousse Encyclopedia of Astrology
“Astrological analysis of any kind reveals potential, what could exist if backed by will and intention. A horoscope, i.e., natal or other chart, is a map of various possibilities and likelihoods latent within any individual or event that are triggered by assorted pressures and actions generated both from within and without. At every stage, every fork in the road, there is choice involved.” ~Stephen M. Smith
